A dedicated lawyer who knows your company, its shareholders and its contracts, and can pick up a task without a long briefing. The scope of work is fixed in the agreement.
A corporate lawyer in Kazakhstan on a monthly retainer handles your company's legal matters within an agreed scope for a fixed monthly fee. The arrangement covers day-to-day advice, reviewing and drafting contracts, claims work and support during government inspections. The real value is not the hourly rate: the lawyer already knows your charter, your shareholders and your standard contracts, so you do not spend time explaining everything from scratch.
A retainer pays off when legal tasks keep coming: new counterparties, employment documents, shareholder resolutions, letters from government agencies. If you only have one or two questions a quarter, one-off services cost less, and we will tell you so. We work with Kazakh and foreign companies in Russian, English and Chinese, in Astana, Almaty and remotely.
Our service fee is from $350 per month. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.
Day-to-day advice, reviewing and drafting contracts, claims work and support during government inspections. Corporate and employment documents are often added. We fix the exact scope and fee in the agreement, so there is no argument later about what counts as a consultation.
Usually not. Court cases and enforcement proceedings are assessed separately after we review the documents, because the workload depends heavily on the dispute. Preparing for a dispute and drafting a claim letter can be done within the retainer.
Yes. We support Kazakh companies with foreign shareholders, branches and non-residents. We work in Russian, English and Chinese and prepare contracts with foreign counterparties. For non-residents we draft bilingual versions of contracts.
When legal questions come up every month rather than once a quarter. Count how many tasks you had over the last six months and what they would have cost separately. If the total is about the same as a retainer or higher, ongoing support makes more sense. If it is much lower, paying per task is simpler.
Yes. Most tasks are handled under a power of attorney, through messengers and by email. You only need to be present in person where the law requires it, for example when obtaining a digital signature or for certain bank procedures.
You do not pay a salary, payroll taxes or employer contributions, and you do not need cover during holidays. An in-house lawyer makes sense when there is a large daily workload inside the company; a retainer works when there are many tasks, but not a full-time job's worth.
No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
We will check whether the program fits your citizenship, income and family, and send an estimate with the full list of costs.
