Electronic Digital Signature in Kazakhstan for Foreigners and LLP Directors

The electronic signature without which a director cannot sign reports and payments, and an individual cannot log in to eGov or the taxpayer account. We prepare the application, accompany you on the visit and set up the keys.

Documents

Almost everyone who works or does business here needs to get an EDS in Kazakhstan. The signature is issued by the National Certification Authority, and a document signed with an EDS has the same legal force as one signed by hand. An LLP director without their own EDS cannot file reports or open a bank account. An individual needs it for eGov, the tax office, banks and real estate deals. Without it, a foreigner struggles even to get a certificate on eGov.

An EDS is issued against your IIN, so you need an IIN first. The signature is not issued under a power of attorney: it is a personal key, and you have to be present yourself. We advise you, prepare and submit the application, accompany you to a Public Service Center in Astana or Almaty, and then install the keys and NCALayer and help you log in to eGov, the taxpayer account and online banking.

You must be present in person: an EDS is not issued under a power of attorney. Whether it can be confirmed at a Kazakh consulate abroad is checked as of the date you contact us.

Who it is for

  • LLP directors, both residents and non-residents
  • Foreign founders who need to sign company decisions and documents
  • Foreign individuals who need it for government services, banks and the tax office
  • Temporary and permanent residence permit holders who handle documents through eGov
  • Directors whose current signature is about to expire

Requirements

  • An IIN: an EDS is not issued without one
  • The owner's personal presence: an EDS is not issued under a power of attorney
  • Passport or ID card
  • For an LLP director: details of the company and of the position
  • A computer to install the keys and NCALayer

What we do

  • Clarify the starting point: whether you are a resident, whether you already have an IIN, where it is easiest for you to get the signature
  • Prepare and submit the EDS application and check the details
  • Accompany you to a Public Service Center in Astana or Almaty
  • If you are outside Kazakhstan, check whether the option through a Kazakh mission abroad is currently available and prepare you for it
  • Install the keys and NCALayer
  • Check that eGov, the taxpayer account and online banking work with the new signature

Key documents

  • Passport or ID card
  • IIN
  • For a director: details of the LLP and the appointment document
  • Email address and phone number for the application

What to watch out for

  • Without an IIN the EDS application cannot be accepted, so start with the IIN if you do not have one yet
  • Neither a lawyer nor any other representative can obtain an EDS for you
  • If several directors or participants need a signature, each gets their own
  • The procedure for non-residents outside Kazakhstan keeps changing, so we check it as of the date you contact us

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is from $150. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

How does a foreigner get an EDS in Kazakhstan?

First get an IIN, then submit an application for the EDS and confirm it in person at a Public Service Center. We prepare the application, accompany you in Astana or Almaty and, once the signature is issued, set up the keys on your computer.

Can I get an EDS under a power of attorney?

No. An EDS is a personal key and is issued only when the owner is present in person. We do everything else: the consultation, the application, checking the details and the setup, but you have to confirm the issue yourself. Offers of an EDS without your involvement are best avoided.

I am abroad. How can I get an EDS?

It depends on the current procedure for non-residents. Previously the signature could be confirmed at a Kazakh consulate, but the rules for foreigners changed in 2026. We check whether this option is available on the date you contact us, or plan a visit to a Public Service Center.

Why does an LLP director need a personal EDS?

The director signs the company's reports, bank documents and applications. Without the director's signature the LLP effectively cannot operate: it cannot file a return, make a payment or submit a notice on eGov.

Do I need an IIN to get an EDS?

Yes, an EDS is issued against your IIN. If you do not have an IIN yet, we get it first, also in person at a Public Service Center. Both steps can often be done in one trip if the documents are prepared in advance.

Do you help with installation and setup?

Yes. We install the keys and NCALayer and check that you can log in to eGov, the taxpayer account and online banking. If something does not work on your computer, we sort it out on site or remotely.

Do you guarantee the result?

No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
