Lawyer Consultation on Kazakhstan: Relocation, Documents and Business

A short conversation with a lawyer after which you know what to do next: which status to apply for, which documents to collect and what can be done without traveling to Kazakhstan.

A lawyer consultation in Kazakhstan helps when you have more questions than answers. Should you move on a temporary residence permit or think about permanent residence right away? Does your employee need a visa? Can a foreigner open an LLP, and what will you have to do in person? We review your situation by phone or messenger, with no office visit. For business questions the format is 30 minutes, which is enough to set out the order of steps and the main risks.

You can send a request and find out what full support would cost free of charge. The lawyer consultation itself is paid, and after it you have a plan: the basis, a document list, and what is done remotely versus only in person. If you then need a deeper review of your papers, we offer a consultation with document analysis.

Fully remote: by phone or messenger, no office visit needed.

Who it is for

  • Foreigners planning a move to Kazakhstan
  • People already living in Kazakhstan who are counting the days of their permitted stay
  • Entrepreneurs who want to open an LLP or a bank account, or get a BIN for a foreign company
  • Employers hiring foreigners who are unsure whether a visa and a permit are needed
  • Owners of operating LLPs with questions about a change of director or address, liquidation or accounting

Requirements

  • The consultation is remote: by phone or messenger
  • For business questions the format is 30 minutes
  • The request and the quote for full support are free; the consultation itself is paid
  • The more precisely you describe your situation in advance, the more specific the answer
  • State fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs of the later process are paid separately

What we do

  • Clarify your goal: relocation, work, study, family, business or closing a company
  • Choose a legal basis and explain how it differs from the nearby options
  • Give you a document list and tell you where an apostille and translation are needed
  • Split the steps into remote and in-person: the IIN, electronic signature and biometrics are done only in person
  • Give you a sense of timing, which depends on government bodies and banks
  • If you need full support, calculate its cost and scope for the contract

Key documents

  • Photo or scan of your passport's main page
  • Date and route of entry into Kazakhstan, if you are already here
  • Documents for your basis: marriage certificate, employment contract, university letter
  • For business: company extract, charter, recent participant decisions
  • Letters and notices from government bodies or a bank, if you have received any

How it works

  1. Requestyou message us and briefly describe the task, your citizenship and your timing
  2. Preparationyou send documents, and the lawyer reviews what you already have
  3. Consultationa call by phone or messenger with answers to your questions
  4. Action planbasis, document list, in-person and remote steps
  5. Support quoteif you want us to handle the process, we set out the scope and the cost

Timeline

A remote call by phone or messenger; for business questions the format is 30 minutes.

Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.

What to watch out for

  • Advice from chats and articles from past years is often out of date: residence permit rules changed in 2026, and non-residents now get an IIN only in person
  • Permitted periods of stay are limited, so do not leave the question until your last week in the country
  • A verbal answer without documents is preliminary: details in your passport, entry dates or charter can change the conclusion
  • If the question requires checking a whole document package, one conversation may not be enough; for that there is a consultation with document analysis

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is from $80. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

How does a lawyer consultation in Kazakhstan work?

Remotely, by phone or messenger. You send a short description and documents in advance, the lawyer reviews them and answers your questions during the call. At the end you get a plan: which basis fits, what to collect, what can be done remotely and where you will need to appear in person.

Can I get a consultation without being in Kazakhstan?

Yes. The consultation is fully remote, and you do not need to travel for it. This is convenient if you are only planning a move or a company setup and want to understand in advance how many trips you will need and what to prepare at home.

How long does the consultation last?

For business questions the format is 30 minutes. For immigration questions the time depends on the situation: one conversation is usually enough to choose a basis and get a document list. If you have many questions, we split them into two calls.

How is a regular consultation different from one with document analysis?

In a regular consultation the lawyer reviews your situation and suggests a route. A consultation on temporary or permanent residence with document analysis goes deeper: the lawyer checks your package, and you receive forms and sample petitions and application forms. If you plan to file on your own, choose the second option.

What questions can I bring to the consultation?

Anything about living and doing business in Kazakhstan: temporary and permanent residence, citizenship, visas and work permits, registration at your place of stay, IIN and electronic signature, LLP registration, bank accounts, accounting, liquidation. If your question is narrow, for example on tax, we will tell you in advance which specialist will be on the call.

What do I do after the consultation?

You can act on your own using the plan, or hand the process over to us. In the second case we fix the scope of work and the cost in a contract, then prepare the documents and support the filing.

Do you guarantee the result?

No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
