A residence permit for people who work remotely for a company or clients outside Spain. You live in Spain, keep your current job, and your family can move with you.
Spain's digital nomad visa is built for employees of foreign companies and freelancers who can work from anywhere. The core condition is a steady income from abroad of at least 200% of the Spanish minimum wage: in 2026 that is about €2,849 a month, or €34,188 a year, for the main applicant. You also need a degree or proven experience in your field, health insurance and a clean criminal record.
There are two ways to apply: through a Spanish consulate in your country of residence, or from inside Spain. When you apply in Spain, a decision usually arrives within 20–30 days and you receive a residence permit straight away. Before filing we check your contract, bank statements and work history, because most refusals come down to income and unsuitable paperwork.
Usually 20–30 days for a decision when you apply from Spain; applying through a consulate is also possible.
Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.
Our service fee is from $2,300. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

If you spend more than 183 days a year in Spain, you become a Spanish tax resident. Digital nomads can apply for the special tax regime for incoming workers, often called the Beckham law. We will check whether it fits your situation.
The visa is issued for up to one year; inside Spain the residence permit is granted for up to 3 years and can be renewed for 2-year periods. After 5 years of legal residence you can apply for long-term residence.
