Permanent residence in Malta through the government program for investors. The status is permanent from day one, covers the whole family and does not require you to live in the country.
Malta permanent residence by investment is one of the few ways to get permanent status in an EU country straight away, without years of temporary permits first. The Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP) is designed for well-off applicants and has several parts: a government contribution and an administrative fee, buying a home or renting one long term, a donation to a registered charity, and proven capital. The program sets the exact amounts itself and reviews them from time to time.
The status is issued to the main applicant and the family, including parents and grandparents if they meet the dependency conditions. You do not have to live in Malta full time, but you must keep the property for the required period. The investment, contributions and fees are paid separately from our support. We do not give investment advice. Our job is the file: proof of source of funds, documents, filing and every step up to the residence cards.
Due diligence usually takes several months; the exact timeline depends on how complete your file is.
Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.
Our service fee is from $51,000. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.
The budget has several parts: the administrative fee, the government contribution, buying or renting a home, a charitable donation and proven capital. The contribution depends on whether you buy or rent and on how many family members you include. The amounts change from time to time, so we calculate the full budget on the date you apply.
No. Under the official program rules, applications from citizens of Russia and Belarus are currently not accepted, and the agency can revise its list of ineligible countries. We check the current status for your nationality before any work starts. If the program is closed to you, we will suggest other options in the EU.
There is no requirement to live in the country permanently. You do have to keep the property for the required period and renew your residence card. If you later want Maltese citizenship, you will need to actually live there. Tax residence depends on how much time you physically spend in Malta.
Your spouse, your children and, if they are financially dependent on you, your parents and grandparents. An extra contribution is paid for each additional family member. Adult children have their own conditions, and we check them in advance.
Due diligence takes most of the time, usually several months. The timeline depends on how complete your file is and how complex your source of funds is. A well-prepared file means fewer follow-up requests from the agency.
The status lets you live in Malta and travel freely across the Schengen Area. The residence certificate does not by itself give you the right to take a job: for that you need a work permit under the general rules. The main applicant or spouse can set up a business in Malta through the relevant authorities. If you plan to run a business there, we discuss it before filing.
No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
We will check whether the program fits your citizenship, income and family, and send an estimate with the full list of costs.
