A residence and work permit for qualified professionals hired by a Hungarian employer. Your family can move with you.
The EU Blue Card is a European status for highly qualified professionals, and Hungary issues it under its own rules. The Hungary EU Blue Card rests on three things: an employment contract with a Hungarian employer, a salary at or above the threshold the state sets each year, and a university degree or recognized qualification. For some professions, IT above all, proven experience may be accepted instead of a degree.
It is one of the most stable ways to move to the EU. The card lets you work, bring your family, and the years you hold it count toward long-term status. We check your contract and degree, help with recognition of qualifications, prepare the documents and handle the application together with your employer.
The review usually takes several weeks, plus time for degree recognition, translations and the employer's documents.
Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.
Our service fee is from $21,000. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.
The threshold is set in Hungary and reviewed regularly, so we won't quote an exact figure without checking it. The salary in your contract must be at or above the threshold in force on the filing date. We check your offer at the start and tell you if the numbers need to be discussed with your employer.
In some professions, especially IT, proven work experience may be accepted instead of a university degree. The rules depend on the profession and on how Hungary applies the EU directive. We will review your situation and tell you which proof of experience you will need.

It lets you travel within the Schengen Area. After a certain period, a card holder can move to another EU country for work under a simplified procedure. The years you hold a Blue Card also count toward EU long-term resident status.
