KITAS E33G: Bali Digital Nomad Visa for Remote Workers

A one-year temporary stay permit in Indonesia for people who work remotely for a company outside the country. You live in Bali legally, without a visa run every couple of months.

IT and remote work

The KITAS E33G is Indonesia's status for remote workers and the closest thing to a Bali digital nomad visa. It is for employees of foreign companies who work online and want to live in Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia. It lets you stay in the country for a full year, with no tourist visa extensions or regular border runs. You cannot work for Indonesian companies or clients on this status: your income has to come from abroad.

The main conditions are employment with a company outside Indonesia and income above the threshold set by the immigration service, plus bank statements and health insurance. The application is filed online. If you are already in Bali on certain visa types, the KITAS can sometimes be issued without leaving the country. We check your documents, file the application and see the process through until you receive your electronic ITAS.

  • Applying without leaving the country is not possible with every type of current visa
  • Indonesia's immigration requirements change, so they are checked before filing

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is from $1,100. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

Is the KITAS E33G the Bali digital nomad visa?

It is Indonesia's temporary stay permit for remote workers, issued for one year. You live in the country legally and keep working for a foreign company. It does not give you the right to work for Indonesian companies, so it suits people whose employer and income are abroad.

How much income do I need for the KITAS E33G?

The threshold is set by Indonesia's immigration service and is calculated as annual income from abroad. Besides income, you need a bank statement showing a balance. We check the current figures on the filing date and advise on the best way to prove your salary.

Does E33G work for freelancers?

The status is designed mainly for employees of foreign companies. Freelancers with several clients find it harder to show that they qualify. We will look at your case and, if E33G does not fit, suggest another option for living in Bali.

Can I get a KITAS while I'm already in Bali?

In some cases, yes. If you are already in Indonesia on certain visa types, the status can be issued without leaving the country. With other visas you will need to leave and re-enter on the new permit. We will look at your visa and suggest the best option.

How long does the process take?

The online application is usually approved within a few business days to a couple of weeks if your documents are in order. If you need to leave the country, add time for the trip. We give you a precise estimate after checking your documents.

Can I bring my family?

Family members can get their own stay permits as dependents. This requires marriage and birth certificates with translations. We will check the conditions for your situation.

Do you guarantee the result?

No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
