Turkish Citizenship Through an Investment Fund

A second citizenship for you and your family, with no relocation and no language exam: you invest in fund units supervised by Turkey's regulator and hold them for three years.

Investors

Turkish citizenship by investment fund is open to people who put at least $500,000 into units of a real estate fund or a venture capital fund supervised by Turkey's capital markets regulator. You hold the units for three years. You do not have to buy an apartment, live in Turkey or pass a language exam. Your spouse and children under 18 are included in the application. The money is transferred from abroad in foreign currency, and subscriptions open once a month, on the 1st to 7th, so we always plan from the nearest window.

From start to passports usually takes 3–6 months, depending on the authorities, and as a rule you travel to Turkey once, for biometrics. We do not give investment advice or sell fund units: the fund and the decision are yours. We check whether the route works for your citizenship, prepare and legalize the family's documents and take you through the residence and citizenship stages without missed deadlines.

Usually one trip to Turkey for biometrics; the other steps are done under a power of attorney.

If your country does not allow dual citizenship, you may lose your current citizenship when you acquire a second one.

Who it is for

  • Investors ready to put in at least $500,000 and leave it untouched for three years
  • Families: a spouse and children under 18 are covered by one application
  • People who want a second passport without buying property
  • Citizens of countries that allow dual citizenship

Requirements

  • At least $500,000, or the equivalent in another foreign currency, in units of a real estate or venture capital fund supervised by Turkey's regulator
  • Holding the units for at least 3 years: they are blocked in a custody account for that period
  • Transfer of the money from abroad in foreign currency
  • Subscription only during the monthly window, from the 1st to the 7th
  • Criminal record certificates for the applicant and spouse

What we do

  • Check how your country treats dual citizenship before any work starts
  • Build a schedule around the subscription window, apostilles and translations
  • Prepare family documents: apostilles, sworn Turkish translations, powers of attorney and a tax number
  • Help open bank and custody accounts and prepare source of funds documents
  • Handle the investor residence permit stage, book biometrics and file the citizenship application
  • Follow your case until the Turkish ID cards and passports are issued

Key documents

  • Passports of all family members
  • Birth certificates showing parents' names, and a marriage certificate
  • Criminal record certificates for the applicant and spouse, issued within the last 6 months
  • Proof of the transfer and source of funds documents
  • Notarized powers of attorney for procedures in Turkey
  • A utility bill in your name, which Turkish banks usually ask for
  • Consent from the other parent or custody documents, if needed for children

How it works

  1. Checkcitizenship of every family member, source of funds, documents and costs beyond the investment
  2. Documents and accountsapostilles, translations, powers of attorney, tax number, bank and custody accounts
  3. Investmenttransfer from abroad, subscription in the 1st–7th window, units blocked for 3 years
  4. Confirmationthe regulator's certificate of conformity, usually within a couple of weeks
  5. Residence and applicationbiometrics in Turkey, investor residence permit, citizenship application
  6. Passportssecurity check, the authorities' decision, ID cards and passports for the family

Timeline

Usually 3–6 months to passports, depending on the authorities; fund subscriptions open once a month, on the 1st to 7th, so dates are counted from the nearest window.

Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.

What to watch out for

  • Missing the subscription window pushes the whole schedule back by a month
  • Names must match letter for letter across all documents; different spellings often cause delays
  • Transferring a large sum in foreign currency from some countries is difficult right now, and banks examine the source of funds closely
  • The value of the units can rise or fall over three years; after that they are redeemed under the fund's rules
  • If your country does not allow dual citizenship, you may lose your current citizenship

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is on request. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

Do I need to buy property for Turkish citizenship by investment fund?

Not in this program. You invest at least $500,000 in units of a real estate or venture capital fund supervised by Turkey's regulator and hold them for three years. The properties and projects belong to the fund; you hold units blocked in a custody account. Equity, bond or gold funds do not qualify.

Which family members get a passport with me?

One application covers your spouse and children under 18, including adopted children. Adult children and parents need a separate investment to qualify on their own. We prepare a set of documents for each family member, with an apostille and a Turkish translation.

Do I have to live in Turkey or speak Turkish?

No. There is no residence requirement and no language exam. Usually one trip is enough: the applicant and spouse come to give biometrics at the residence permit stage. The other steps are done under a power of attorney.

What happens to the investment after three years?

The block is lifted, and the units can be redeemed under the fund's rules. Their value may rise or fall in the meantime, so nobody knows the exit amount in advance. Study the redemption terms, fund expenses and the currency of the unit price in the fund documents before subscribing.

Can I keep my current citizenship?

Turkey allows dual citizenship, but your own country's rules matter too. If your country does not recognize a second citizenship, you could lose yours when you get a Turkish passport. We also discuss the money transfer: banks check the source of funds carefully, and it pays to prepare for that early.

How long does Turkish citizenship take?

Usually 3–6 months from start to passports. The investment part, from opening accounts to the regulator's confirmation, as a rule takes a few weeks. The rest goes into the residence permit, the security check and the authorities' decision. These stages cannot be sped up, but you can avoid losing time to document errors.

Can citizenship be revoked after it is granted?

Yes, if it turns out the documents were false or the transaction was fictitious. Turkey has reviewed decisions in investment cases, and a revocation can affect the whole family. That is why we work only with genuine documents and a transparent source of funds.

Do you guarantee the result?

No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
