Open a Business Bank Account for Your UAE Company

We open a corporate account in one of two ways: remotely through a UAE payment service, or at a local bank once you hold a residence visa. The documents are prepared so compliance questions are answered the first time; the bank makes the decision.

A UAE trade license is issued quickly, but the UAE business bank account is often the slowest step. Traditional Emirati banks only open a company account if the owner has an Emirates ID, the resident card issued with a residence visa, so the route comes first. Without a trip, we open a corporate account with a payment service that works with free zone companies: fully remote, usually 3–5 business days after a complete set of documents. For a local bank, we arrange the visa first: three to four days on the ground are usually enough, and once the Emirates ID is issued we apply to the bank.

Both routes check the same things: who owns the company, where the money comes from, who the company works with and where its counterparties are. Incomplete documents or a vague business description are common causes of delays and refusals. We review your profile, choose the bank or service, collect the documents, write a clear description of the business and the source of funds, and help you answer follow-up requests quickly. If you get your residence visa through us, help with a local bank account is included in the visa service.

A payment service account in the UAE is opened remotely. Traditional UAE banks require the owner's Emirates ID, which means a residence visa and a trip.

Who it is for

  • New free zone and mainland companies in the UAE that need their first account
  • Owners who do not plan to travel to the UAE but want to accept payments now
  • Companies a bank has rejected or kept waiting
  • Owners who want a second account as a backup
  • Founders from any country who want to understand UAE banks' requirements in advance

Requirements

  • A valid trade license and the company's founding documents
  • For a local bank, the owner's residence visa and Emirates ID; no visa is needed for a payment service
  • A clear description of the business, the clients and the expected turnover
  • Proof of the source of funds
  • An in-person meeting for a local bank account; with a payment service everything is remote

What we do

  • Help you choose the route: a payment service with no travel, or a local bank after the visa
  • Review the company and owner profile and pick a bank or service that works with your business and country of origin
  • Put together the document set for that bank's requirements
  • Write the description of the business and the source of funds
  • Prepare you for the bank meeting if the account is at a local bank
  • Help you answer follow-up requests

Key documents

  • Trade license and founding documents; for a local bank, also the establishment card
  • Passports of the owner and manager; for a local bank, also the residence visa and Emirates ID
  • Description of the business, counterparties and expected turnover
  • Contracts with clients and suppliers, or drafts
  • Proof of the source of funds: statements, documents on the sale of a business or property
  • The owner's CV or profile

How it works

  1. Briefactivity, owners, counterparties' countries, currencies and turnover
  2. Choosing the routea payment service with no travel, or a local bank after the residence visa
  3. Document setcompany and owner documents, business description and source of funds
  4. Applicationremotely to the payment service, or at a bank meeting after the Emirates ID is issued
  5. Follow-ups and decisionextra requests and the decision; a payment service usually replies within 3–5 business days of a complete set

Timeline

A payment service account usually takes 3–5 business days after a complete set of documents; a local bank account follows the Emirates ID, and timing depends on the bank.

Timelines are approximate: government agencies, consulates and banks set them.

What to watch out for

  • The bank or service decides whether to open the account and may refuse without giving a reason
  • Without the owner's Emirates ID, local UAE banks will not open an account, which leaves the payment service route
  • A payment service has its own currencies, limits and transaction types, so we check that they suit your clients
  • A vague description of the business or the source of funds is a common reason for refusal
  • Counterparties in higher-risk countries require additional explanations

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is from $1,300. Government fees, translations, insurance and other mandatory costs are paid separately; we send the full estimate before you sign.

Can I open a UAE business bank account without traveling?

Yes, with a payment service that works with free zone companies, such as Payoneer UAE. It is fully remote and usually takes 3–5 business days after a complete set of documents. Traditional UAE banks will not open an account without the owner's Emirates ID, which means a residence visa and a trip, so many owners start with a payment service and add a bank account later.

How is a payment service different from a bank?

A payment service opens a corporate account with no visa or travel: the company receives client payments and pays suppliers through it. It is not a traditional UAE bank, and it has its own currencies, limits and transaction types. Consulting and digital companies often find it enough at the start. We check whether it fits your payments before applying.

Why do UAE banks reject applications?

Most often because of incomplete documents, an unclear business model, an unclear source of funds or counterparties in countries the bank considers risky. We address these questions in the document set before applying.

How long does it take to open the account?

A payment service usually opens the account within 3–5 business days after a complete set of documents. With a local bank the timing depends on the bank: the review can take several weeks or longer if more documents are requested. You can apply only after receiving your Emirates ID, and the visa needs a 3–4 day visit for the medical test and biometrics.

Can you help if a bank has already rejected us?

Yes. We work out the likely reason, fix the document set and apply to a bank that better matches your profile. The next application should answer the questions the first one left open.

Does the owner's citizenship affect the account?

Banks assess risk themselves, so it can. For example, the UAE has not joined Western sanctions against Russia and Belarus, but because of the threat of US secondary sanctions, banks check owners from these countries more strictly: more questions, a longer review and a possible refusal. We choose the bank for your profile, prepare answers in advance and check whether the payment service is available to you.

Do you guarantee the result?

No. Decisions are made by government agencies, consulates and banks. We are responsible for preparing and checking documents, filing and support, and we tell you about the risks upfront.
